Introduction
Privacy is important. Period. This is a community site and you are our community.

Our goal at jab’s Love Letters is to continue operating without endangering your privacy. All information gathered on our Website is confidential. When we use it, it is to better serve the community interests through Website development, research and marketing.

The policy may be revised or updated from time to time by us. We encourage you to check back often to ensure that you are familiar with the most recent version and the terms of our policy.

We prefer to keep things informal, but we also understand that outlining a privacy policy is important to promote the parameters of the Website environment.

We’ll do our best to be as plain spoken as possible, but there’s a lot to cover. And there may be some areas that overlap; it’s a complicated dance.

Stripping it down to the brass tacks…
Your use of the site, or your provision to us of any personal information constitutes your Agreement to the Legal Notice, these terms and any subsequent changes to these terms. If you aren’t comfortable with these terms, don’t use or provide information to the Website. Not trying to be mean. Just trying to speak the truth in love.

Your Personal Information
Even though the Website doesn’t have a user account feature, we do ask you to submit some personal information along with your submissions (letters, pictures, videos) to engage in the site. See the details below.

If you submit a Love Letter via the Contact Form on the website, we will be collecting:

Your First and Last Name
A Complete Mailing Address
Phone Number (optional)
Email Address
Letter Title (optional: if one is not provided, the Editor will title your work)
Additional Information about the Letter: letter category (I thank you, I love you, I want you, I miss you, I’m sorry), composition date, author’s website or online platform, and any additional comments

If you submit a Love Letter Picture via the Contact Form on the website, we will be collecting:

Your First and Last Name
Email Address
Image File: max of 2MB; the following file types are accepted: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .gif
Captions and/or comments you’d like included with the post

If you submit a Love Letter Video via email, we will be collecting:

Your Email Address
Your video file
Your Love Letter content
Captions and/or comments you’d like included with the post
Any other personal information you voluntarily include in the email

How We Post Information (Letters, Pictures, Videos)
Love Letters will be posted directly on the Website under the menu item (and may also be posted under the Featured menu item). New submissions will be posted periodically. Love Letters will be accompanied by (a) the author’s initials, (b) the composition date, and (c) any comments the author submitted along with the Love Letter content*. Posts are displayed, edited and removed at the sole discretion of jab’s Love Letters.

*We will display a website and/or online presence only if permission is specified in the Comments/Captions section of the submit forms.

Love Letter Pictures will be posted directly on the Website under the menu item (and may also be posted under the Featured menu item). New submissions will be posted periodically. Love Letter Pictures will be accompanied by (a) the initials of the sender and (b) caption information. Posts are displayed, edited and removed at the sole discretion of the jab’s Love Letters.

Love Letter Videos will be posted directly on jab’s Love Letters YouTube Channel. A link to the Featured Love Letter Video will be posted to the Website under the Featured menu item. New submissions will be posted periodically. Love Letter Videos will be accompanied by (a) the submitter’s initials, (b) love letter content and (c) captions/comment information. Because the guidelines state that all video submissions need to be accompanied by the Love Letter content, we may also post your Love Letter directly to the Website.

Note: Because of the freedom you’ve given jab’s Love Letters via the Agreement to the Legal Notice, we have the right to take your content and post it to our social network platforms. That will be a standard process as submissions are received in order to promote the Love and Appreciation movement. No personal contact information will be posted on social network profiles in order to maintain the privacy of each community member. Exceptions will be made only for those members who ask specifically to be mentioned, or those who give jab’s Love Letters explicit permission to associate their content with their contact information. We cannot be responsible for member tagging or hyperlinking themselves once posts by jab’s Love Letters have been made.

Security is Tight
We use secutiry measures to maintain the confidentiality of the personal information you submit to jab’s Love Letters. Your information is only accessible by a limited number of people, those working directly on the project to manage the Service offered, and they are required to keep the information confidential.

jab’s Love Letters does not give (and or sell) your information to third parties.

Note: Regardless of these efforts by us, no data transmission over the public Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Public Information is…um, Public
Some actions on jab’s Love Letters, particularly leaving comments on posts, are visible to the public. Identification of all contributed content may include, but is not limited to, display of your Name, Website and Comments. All content may be retained for restorative, archival, or research purposes by jab’s Love Letters. Editing or deleting content may alter the displayed state of the content, but will not permanently delete the content from the Website.

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose can be collected and used by other users. You should exercise caution before disclosing your personal information via these public venues. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in the public facing parts of the site.

Emails from jab’s Love Letters
The more we know about you, the better we can customize the Website to suit your personal preferences or interests. The email address you provide may be used by jab’s Love Letters to contact you for editorial purposes or to advise you of any changes to our site via direct emails or an eNewsletter service provider. We may also contact you on occasions to let you know about specific actions that are available (review new posts, contests, new book releases). At any time, you can opt out of these messages directly from the eNewsletter link. We promise not to spam and that when we do reach out, it will be for a good cause.

Automatic Information that Helps
Our server does keep a record of the actions you take on the site (pages you visit, fields you input, etc…). We note what URL you visited, your browser type and IP address. Lots of websites do this, it’s standard web server access log stuff. We keep this information only to study how people are engaging in our site. We will examine this information in terms of demographics, not to study individual users. We will not single people out as case studies without their explicit permission.

Google Analytics
In the same vein, we analyze traffic to jab’s Love Letters in various ways, including a service called Google Analytics. (Google Analytics is subject to the privacy policy on Google, Inc., which you can find on their website.) We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors and community members.

Little Humans
This website’s content is intended for adults and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a child under age 13 who you believe has submitted personal information to this site, contact us immediately.

Links, Links and More Links
jab’s Love Letters links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by us. We certainly like a lot of other websites out there, but that doesn’t mean we are responsible for the way they do business. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy policies of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personal information. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information collected on the jab’s Love Letters Website.

Donations
We do offer a donation feature on the site. Your support helps us keep moving forward to spread Love and Appreciation as loud as we can from our little platform. The donation feature is handled via PayPal; and so all your transaction information is processed directly through the secure PayPal method.

jab’s Love Letters does not offer direct payment processing on the site, so we have no need to collect your Credit/Debit card information.

All donations will be accepted and processed via jab’s plethora, LLC, the company supporting the jab’s Love Letters project initiative.

Note: No data transaction over the Internet or any wireless network can be 100% guaranteed to be secure. As a result, while we try to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. We are not liable for the illegal acts of any third party.

Purchases
We do offer you the option to purchase an autographed print copy of the books from the site. You can also purchase tees. Your purchases help us keep moving forward to spread Love and Appreciation as loud as we can from our little platform. Ads on the Website
We allow other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within our web pages. Again, it takes time (and we all know, time needs money) to spread Love and Appreciation. Because your web browser must request these advertising banners from the ad network website, these companies can send their own cookies to your cookie file, just as if you had requested a web page from the site. Please note that if an advertiser asks us to show an advertisement to a certain audience and you respond to that ad, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience it is trying to reach. As always remember, we only authorize our third-party ad servers to employ anonymous cookies for ad delivery and anonymous targeting. Our Website third-party ad servers do not collect, nor do we give them access, to any personally identifying information about you.

We also use third-party ad servers to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet. They may collect anonymous information about your visits to our website, and your interaction with our products and services. They may also use information about your visits to this and other Web sites to target advertisements for goods and services. This anonymous information is collected through the use of a pixel tag, which is industry standard technology used by most major websites.

Don’t Want Ads?
If you want to prevent a third-party ad server from sending and reading cookies on your computer, you must visit each ad network’s website individually and opt out. Currently, we have a relationship with the following third-party ad network: Google Adsense.

Everyone (even We) Need to Play by the Rules
If jab’s Love Letters is asked to disclose information in response to warrants, subpoenas or other valid legal processes, we will do so. This is about obeying the law. Period.
